The Principal Investigator of our laboratory served as a committee member at the “I Jornada de Avances de la Biofabricación en Galicia”, an event focused on recent progress in biofabrication technologies.
The symposium took place alongside the graduation of the first cohort from Spain’s only Master’s program in Biofabrication. Ten professionals completed the program after presenting final projects.
The event reflects the growing interest in biofabrication among research groups and companies, and the lab’s participation highlights its involvement in emerging scientific initiatives in the region.

Our research group was represented at the 8th International Conference on Tissue Engineering by Patricia Díaz-Rodríguez, who served as Chair of Session II: Long-term Integration and Function of Engineered Tissues.
During the session, she presented part of our ongoing work on Adaptive Bone Scaffolds for Controlled Drug Release and Enhanced Healing, highlighting innovative strategies for improving tissue regeneration and therapeutic delivery.
The conference provided a valuable platform for sharing advances in biomedical engineering and fostering international collaboration in regenerative medicine.

We’re proud to announce that our collaborative innovation project, “Sustainable Biomaterials: From Organic Waste to Bioplastics and Biofilms,” developed jointly with a local high school and funded by the Xunta de Galicia under the FP Innova framework, has been selected for presentation at FP Innova Galicia 2025.

This initiative represents a shared commitment to advancing vocational education (Formación Profesional) through hands-on research and sustainable innovation. By bridging the gap between secondary education and scientific practice, the project empowers young learners to engage with real-world challenges and contribute to a greener future.

We’re proud to share that our Principal Investigator, Patricia Diaz-Rodriguez, represented our research group at the EUFEPS / ÖPhG Joint Annual Meeting 2025, held in Vienna from February 19 to 21. Her oral presentation showcased part of our ongoing research on intra-articular formulations, contributing to the meeting’s scientific exchange. The event brought together over 250 participants from 28 countries, highlighting cutting-edge developments in pharmaceutical sciences across Europe.
